-2004 HackFest Golf Championship-

Repeat Performance

Li'l' Champ: HackFest '04

A dejected, contemplative RJ sits just off the Fairview Golf Course driving range, where his ridiculously expensive new Mizuno clubs had just completely turned on him. Mis-hitting nearly every practice shot that morning, he walked away a broken man, suffering severe pangs of buyer's remorse, and spending the afternoon regrouping at Hershey Park with sympathetic family members.  In the mysterious way the game has of knocking you down one day and building you up the next, he came back with a brilliant 83 in the Championship round less than 24-hours later to retain the HackFest Hardware. Go figure. Frankly, his three opponent-brothers much prefer him in the miserable posture depicted above, and not in the giddy, gloating, cocksure one his subsequent low score contrived for him.

(Sorry -- no photos of the Champ in that gleefully exaltant state were permitted.)

-HF'04 Medal Round-

Official scorekeeper Juan Carlos Pedofuerte was fired after this mathematical hackjob only to move directly onto Athens where he helped judge the Men's All-Around Gymnastics Championship.  Of course, he also screwed that up, the result being a gold medal for American Paul Hamm and silver and bronze for Hamm's South Korean opponents.  In our case, Senor Pedofuerte's infractions were relatively minor, but they did affect the standings:  Firstly, MJM shot a 50, not a 49, on the front nine and therefore his total for 18 was 93, not 92.  JPM, on the other hand, shot a 47, not a 48 on the back nine, changing his final score to 95 from 96.  The Final Official Standings are as follows: 1.)  RJM, 83  2.) MJM, 93 3.) JPM, 95  4.) WOM, 96**
